You entice me with your power and force
You undulate, gentle but oh so strong
I long to fall, roll and revel with you
I speak not of love but the sea, of course
You beckon me with such a subtle song
Dark azure water, moving, ever new
Take me to your depths, I will come freely
Give myself to you, stay with you, forget
Walking into your cold embrace, easy
I speak of love, still not forgotten yet
But lost. I will come, lie with you. Free me.
I watch the sea from my apartment every day; the way it changes colour depending on the weather, the way it moves, I’ve seen its power but I’m always calmed in its presence. In reality, I would never give up my life to the sea but I can understand those who do and this was written for them.

I miss the ocean so much because now I live inland but this resonated so much. Beautifully penned.

I used to live inland too but now I couldn’t imagine being away from the ocean…
Thank you so much, I’m glad you liked it :O) xx

I know what you mean. I hope one day I live by the sea again. I love the fact you can look out the window and observe the sea, like a moving meditation. ❤

Yes, it’s exactly like that 😊. I hope you find yourself back by the sea one day too xxx

Yes, the sea does draw you in, though when I’m swimming I get out quickly if the waves get too big!
I was on the cliff top this morning watching Storm Callum whip up the waves – so windy could hardly breathe – fantastic!

Yes I’m with you on the big waves definitely!
Wow that sounds amazing! Mother Nature is incredible isn’t she 😊 xx

I, too, can understand the draw that the sea has, as I can understand that standing at the edge of a sheer drop draws those in a self destruct frame of mind. I have thankfully avoided both to date, but still feel the strength you describe. Well written Lisa.
