Goooooood Moooooooooorning Blogland! How are we all? Whatever you’re up to today enjoy it to the max because it’s back to work tomorrow but for now, sit back, relax and enjoy Song Lyric Sunday. I love this once a week challenge where we can connect with other bloggers and discover new music – why not play along? Brought to us by the TVtastic Jim Adams, it’s a must for all music lovers and, this week, for all gogglebox enthusiasts too as our prompt is ‘song from a TV show’.

Here are some rules for you:

  • Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not.
  • Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due.
  • Make sure you also credit the singer/band and if you desire you can provide a link to where you found the lyrics.
  • Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song.
  • Ping back to this post will eventually work, as long as you are being patient, but you can also place your link in the comments if you don’t like to wait.
  • Read at least one other person’s blog, so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process.
  • Feel free to suggest future prompts.
  • Have fun and enjoy the music.

This one was easy for me as I love the TV show that first introduced me to the song:

Hello, hello
Anybody out there? ‘Cause I don’t hear a sound
Alone, alone
I don’t really know where the world is but I miss it now
I’m out on the edge and I’m screaming my name
Like a fool at the top of my lungs
Sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I’m alright
But it’s never enough
‘Cause my echo, echo
Is the only voice coming back
Shadow, shadow
Is the only friend that I have
Listen, listen
I would take a whisper if that’s all you had to give
But it isn’t, is it?
You could come and save me and try to chase the crazy right out of my head
I’m out on the edge and I’m screaming my name
Like a fool at the top of my lungs
Sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I’m alright
But it’s never enough
‘Cause my echo, echo
Is the only voice coming back
Shadow, shadow
Is the only friend that I have
I don’t wanna be an island
I just wanna feel alive and
Get to see your face again
I don’t wanna be an island
I just wanna feel alive and
Get to see your face again
But ’til then
Just my echo, my shadow
You’re my only friend and I’m
I’m out on the edge and I’m screaming my name
Like a fool at the top of my lungs
Sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I’m alright
But it’s never enough
‘Cause my echo, echo
Oh my shadow, shadow
Hello, hello
Anybody out there?
Songwriters: Nicholle Anne Galyon / Jason Walker
I’ve had a bit of a thing for vampires ever since I watched Interview With A Vampire (Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Cristian Slater and Antonio Banderas all in the same film – what’s not to love!) but it became something of an obsession after I lost my husband. I watched The Vampire Diaries which led me to The Originals, I watched the Twighlight films back to back, I read every vampire novel I could lay my hands on……..after a long time, I realised why I had this compulsion – vampires don’t die.
In this particular episode Elena and Stefan were apart and they were pining for each other even though they knew that it was impossible for them to be together and this song, for me, really sums up those feelings. I was at a pretty low ebb when I watched this episode – missing my husband desperately, lonely and trying so hard to put on a brave face and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Needless to say I cried when I heard the opening lines:
“Hello, hello
Anybody out there? ‘Cause I don’t hear a sound
Alone, alone
I don’t really know where the world is but I miss it now”
and I guess that’s why this song has stuck with me. Anyway, I really hope that you enjoy it
As an added bonus track, here’s my favourite vampire of all time – the ultimate bad boy – Klaus Mikaelson. He’s doing what he does best, which is being mean and menacing and it’s all to an amazing track – Bartholomew by The Silent Comedy.

That’s it for now – have a super day :O)

  2. Never watched the Vampire Diaries, and while my daughter was on #TeamTwilight, I passed. But Interview with a Vampire? Still watch it every few months.

This song, Echo…I can relate to it. I lost my husband of 35 years in May…and am dealing with my own echoes and shadows.

    Thanks for the introduction. 💕

  3. Hi!

I think this is the first #songlyricsunday post I’ve seen for the 4th August 2019 which is not my own.

And – wow – the whole Vampire phenomenon.

Someone who was close to me for eight years loved his Vampires – and especially Sarah Michelle Gellar and Buffy Swanson.

    Great post!
