Another Sunday has rolled round and here we all are, ready to rock, with Song Lyric Sunday, the brainchild of the lovely Helen. If you like to meet new bloggers and love music please play along…

Here are the “rules”:

  • Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
  • Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
  • Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
  • Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
  • Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
  • Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process

The first time, ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars
Were the gifts you gave
To the dark, and the endless skies
My Love

And the first time, ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move in my hands
Like the trembling heart
Of a captive bird
That was there, at my command
My Love

And the first time, ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy
Would fill the earth
And last, til the end of time
My Love
And last, ’til the end of time
My love

The first time, ever I saw
Your face
Your face
Your fa-ace
Your face

Writer(s): MCCOLL EWAN

What can I say about this song? It is absolutely beautiful that’s what! Roberta Flack’s voice is soft and alluring and the melody haunting; it’s a song for late nights, laying on the beach as warm winds soothe you to sleep….

We’ve all seen the films where eyes meet across a crowded room and the main characters fall instantly in love; this song is the perfect background for such a scene. You may dismiss it as romantic nonsense but it does happen. The first time I saw the man who would become my husband I fell in love and he said the same; I don’t have the necessary skill with words to sum up those feelings, the writer of this song does……..

I hope that you enjoy it. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone
