After a few days off, spent in sunny England (yep you heard right; warm, sunny and no rain at all!) I’m back just in time for Song Lyric Sunday. Brought to us by the warm and sunny Helen , it’s our weekly chance to share great music and make new friends so why not play along?
Here are the rules:
- Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
- Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
- Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
- Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
- Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
- Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process
Normally I have no trouble thinking of a song but this was really, really tricky. The song I’ve come up with is a bit of a stretch but it’s beautiful and I love it so what the heck :O)
I thought all I needed was to believe
The blood of Christ, or the beat of my heart
My love wears forbidden colours
My life believes
Millions are willing to give their lives for you
Does nothing live on?
My hands in the soil, buried inside of myself
My love wears forbidden colours
My life believes in you once again
While doubting the very ground beneath me
Trying to show unquestioning faith in everything
Here am I, a lifetime away from you
The blood of Christ, or a change of heart
My life believes
My love wears forbidden colours
My life believes in you once again
While doubting the very ground beneath me”
