Good morning all you lovely folk out there in WordPress land! Here we are again at the end of another week and it’s time for the fantastic Song Lyric Sunday created and brought to us by the lovely Helen. If you’d like to play along (you really should, it’s such fun!) here are some rules for you:

  • Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
  • Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
  • Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
  • Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
  • Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
  • Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process

Here is my choice for this week; you can’t go wrong with Pink Floyd right?

Us and them
And after all we’re only ordinary men
Me and you
God only knows

It’s not what we would choose to do
Forward he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat
And the lines on the map
Moved from side to side
Black and blue

And who knows which is which and who is who
Up and down
And in the end it’s only round ‘n round
Haven’t you heard it’s a battle of words
The poster bearer cried
Listen son, said the man with the gun
There’s room for you inside

“I mean, they’re not gonna kill ya, so if you give ’em a quick short, sharp, shock, they won’t do it again. Dig it? I mean he get off lightly, ’cause I would’ve given him a thrashing – I only hit him once! It was only a difference of opinion, but really…I mean good manners don’t cost nothing do they, eh?”

Down and out
It can’t be helped that there’s a lot of it about
With, without
And who’ll deny it’s what the fighting’s all about?
Out of the way

It’s a busy day
I’ve got things on my mind
For the want of the price
Of tea and a slice
The old man died

What can I say about this track? Well, it’s just sublime isn’t it? It’s the sort of song that should be listened to on a cold winters night, laying in front of a log fire where all you have to do is watch the flames as they dance before your eyes.

I hope you enjoy it!

Have a wonderful Sunday one and all
