321 Quote Me – Being you, Only You

The lovely Rory, whose blog, if you don’t know it, is an absolute must read, has tagged me in a quote challenge, the subject being ‘You, Only You’. I love inspirational quotes so I am more than happy to play along with this one!

You wouldn’t worry so much what others think of you if you realised how seldom they do

This first quote from Eleanor Roosevelt is, for me truly enlightening; we worry so much about what others think without realising that they, in turn, are probably doing exactly the same thing. In reality, 99.99% of the world won’t give us, as individuals, a second thought and the other 0.01% love us for who we are, which brings me to my second quote:

321 quote me YOU 2

According to the rules I am now supposed to nominate 3 other bloggers to take on this challenge but I’m doing to leave this one open because looking for quotes that make us feel good about ourselves is something we should all do every once in a while isn’t it?

321 Quote Me: Courage

The lovely Rory, a guy called bloke has very kindly tagged me for this quote challenge; if you don’t know Rory, he’s a super guy and I know he’d love to meet you so why not pop over and say hello!

The lovely Rory, a guy called bloke has very kindly tagged me for this quote challenge; if you don’t know Rory, he’s a super guy and I know he’d love to meet you so why not pop over and say hello!

I chose the quote “Courage doesn’t always roar, sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying “I will try again tomorrow” because I think that people tend to associate the word ‘courage’ with heroes; people who are almost super human. However, for me at least, courage is often quiet and unassuming; it is people who have, seemingly, insurmountable problems but still manage, somehow to find a smile or a word of encouragement for someone else. It is all too easy to give in to our problems and the challenges that life throws at us, it take courage to stand up and say ‘this is not going to beat me’.

The second quote I’ve chosen is this one:

321 quote me courage 1 Simply because I believe that our society is being irreparably damaged by ‘mob mentality’ which is being driven by a desire to conform. It seems as though people, especially on social media, will add their sheep like bleats to abhorrent commentaries just to be seen to be conforming to the latest politically correct trends. I have far more respect for someone who will stand alone but makes his point nevertheless than someone who repeats the opinions of others without real understanding or a genuine belief.

I now have to nominate 3 bloggers to take up this challenge and I’ve chosen:

Darren The Arty Plantsman

Billy at Good to be Alive Today

Brian who resides at Bonnywood Manor

If anyone else would like to have a go please feel free, I think this is a great prompt for a quote challenge!

Have a super day one and all

321 Quote Me! – Creative Writing

Once again, I stood still long enough for someone to tag me and this time it was the master of the one word prompt and all round great guy, Fandango. If you haven’t come across this before it’s a fun challenge and, like all challenges it has it’s rules:

Once again, I stood still long enough for someone to tag me and this time it was the master of the one word prompt and all round great guy, Fandango. If you haven’t come across this before it’s a fun challenge and, like all challenges it has it’s rules:

  1. Thank the selector.
  2. Post 2 quotes for the dedicated Topic of the Day.
  3. Select 3 bloggers to take part in ‘3.2.1 Quote Me!’

A huge thank you to Fandango who has provided the inspiration for a number of my recent posts and whose own work is a constant source of entertainment; do pop over and visit, I am sure you’ll get along famously!

writing-quote-1.jpg

My first quote is from a writer who scared the living daylights out of me when I was a teenager; there is nothing quite like being terrified by a truly brilliant author is there? Now, as a slightly battered 52 year old, I can appreciate the wisdom in his words and in this quote in particular as it resonates with me so strongly. WP, and all the amazing people who reside therein, has been a life-line for me..

Writing 2

How true is this!? There is no way on earth that I could sit down with other people and tell them about the ideas that meander their way through my mind but it’s the easiest thing in the World to put them down on paper. I don’t know about you but writing is an enormous release for me and a way to set my ideas free from their prison of insecurity.

At this point I should be nominating 3 others to pick up and run with this but writing is something that we all do and I think that we all have quotes that motivate us or keep us going when it seems like all the words have dried up so I’m going to throw this open to everyone :O)

Osho Knowledge

This quote is from Osho, an Indian Guru who gained huge popularity in the USA. I have listened to his talks, on and off, for the last couple of years and find them hugely inspiring. He speaks very slowly and deliberately and with an enormous amount of common sense. He changed my view of life, not so much in a spiritual way, but more I was encouraged to look at things more simply and not over-analyze……

PLato KNowledge

What a wise man Plato was! Isn’t this quote just so true? How many times do we put forward our opinion without being totally sure of our facts just because we feel passionate about a certain subject? I know I have more than once, what about you?

So there you have it, my two quotes and now I am just left with nominating 3 others to take up the challenge:

John over at The Sound of One Hand Typing

Billy at Good to Be Alive Today

Stella at Stella’s Place

I hope that you guys with have fun with it!

Have a great day everybody!
