Song Lyric Sunday

Good morning blogging world! I hope that whatever you’ve got planned for today, you have fun! As always, I am kicking off today with Song Lyric Sunday, brought to us by the lovely Jim Adams, it’s a chance for us all to discover new music and new blogging friends so I do hope that you’ll play along. The prompt for this week gives us a massive amount of scope as it’s Dawn/Noon/Dusk/Midnight/Nocturnal/Diurnal.

My choice for this week isn’t exactly on point but if someone is saying ‘goodnight’ it has to be dark and possibly around midnight right? Anyway, I love it and it has the best saxophone solo ever so I do hope that you’ll enjoy it!

If you’re of a certain age, you’ll remember the film that this song came from – it was called Breaking Glass and it was a huge hit in 1980. This was the age of punk and the film was a story of rebellion against the norm and anger against the establishment but it was also a love story and a rather poignant one at that. As I’ve been writing this I’ve been watching little clips from the film and now I think I’m going to have to track it down on Netflix!
