Blimey, 2 awards in 7 days, I shall have to put up a shelf at this rate! I am truly honoured to have received this nomination……..no scrap that, it sounds way too stuffy! A big shout out and a huge thank you to Sadje, a prolific and incredibly entertaining blogger; if you don’t already know her please have a wander over and check out her site, I’m sure that you’ll love it :O)
Once again I will have to have a rummage around in my brain to come up with some answers to her 11 questions. I’m going to have a quick cup of tea and I’ll be right back…..OK, I’m ready:
What made you start blogging?
Initially it was something to do. I live alone, I hadn’t worked in some time and I’ve always enjoyed writing. However, over time it became a way to unravel some emotional spaghetti and to meet some truly amazing people. I have never come face to face with another blogger but I count a number of you as friends which is something truly incredible!
Do your friends and family support you in this?
Yes, absolutely.
Which is your favorite time of the day?
Can I have two? I love first thing in the morning, watching the sun rise with the expectation of a new day but also after dark when I can sit and relax with a glass of wine, some good music and my memories.
What would be your dream vacation?
I had it. It was the last holiday that my husband and I took together; we had an amazing two weeks in Mauritius. It was somewhere I’d always wanted to go since seeing pictures of the place when I was about 18 and it didn’t disappoint. We saw and did everything we wanted to do and we laughed so much! Shortly afterwards he began chemo and that was the beginning of the end. I will never forget those two weeks although the memories are bitter sweet.
As for future travels, I want to see as much of the World as possible before I pop my clogs so I am always looking for new destinations – let me know if you have any suggestions :O)
What genre of movies you like best?
Psychological thrillers definitely. I love any film or book that gets my brain working trying to figure out what’s going to happen in the end……
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Oh God, I remember answering this question in job interviews and always found it difficult! I guess I am very loyal and honest but I overthink and can be lazy – best I can do with that one.
Are you an emotional person?
Oh yes! Far too emotional probably.
What motivates you in life and writing?
In life what motivates me is to try and enjoy every day and to experience as much as I possibly can before my time is up. With writing, I honestly don’t know; words pop into my head and they go straight to the keyboard, it’s really not much more complicated than that but I do it because I enjoy it :O)
What sort of friend are you to your pals?
I don’t have many close friends but those that I do have I would do anything for.
Have you written poetry as well?
Yes. I used to love writing poetry when I was at school and I seem to have wandered back into it in the last few months. There’s something very satisfying about organising words into a rhythm and I find I can express my emotions through poetry far more easily than with prose. I have also been lucky enough to have found some absolutely awesome poets on WP; some of their work absolutely knocks my socks off!
Being happy or peaceful, what is more important to you?
Peaceful. I strive to be happy, like everyone, but I don’t think that you can be happy all the time so I strive for peace. That way, even if I feel sad, I can accept the emotion for what it is but still remain calm. I spent so much time dealing with a torrent of emotion that now a moment of genuine peace is a real blessing.
I am now supposed to nominate 11 others but, in my experience, many bloggers don’t like awards so I am going to pose 11 questions to anyone who would like to answer them. For me, anyone who commits to a blog and shares their thoughts and inspirations with others deserves an award ;O)
- Socks? Love them or hate them?
- Is there a God?
- Is a pizza a pizza without cheese?
- What’s your favourite book and why?
- Do aliens exist or are we floating around in space all alone?
- Do you still have the teddy you slept with as a child?
- Brussel sprouts? Yes or no?
- Christmas? Do you love it or hate it?
- What’s sexier – a beaming smile or thigh high boots?
- If you were stuck with one view for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- Which do you prefer? Spring or Autumn?
Have a wonderful day one and all
